The most common question which is asked regarding child support wage garnishment is how much can be garnished in case where there is a child support or alimony to be paid??
The answer to this lies in the The Consumer Credit Protection Act which puts a limit on the amount that can be subtracted from your wages (garnished) to cover child or spouse support to a maximum of 50% if you are supporting another child or spouse. If you are not supporting another child or spouse, then up to 60% of your wages can be legally garnished.
